Barcelona president Joan Laporta confirmed that the club turned down a massive €250 million offer for Lamine Yamal, while calling him “the most popular player in the world.” Despite PSG’s interest, Yamal remains committed to Barcelona, with his future secured by a €1 billion release clause valid until 2026. Laporta stated, “We received a bid worth €250m for Lamine Yamal, and we have turned it down.” The offer reportedly came from PSG in May, but Barcelona’s refusal demonstrates their intent to build their squad around Yamal.

Barca director Deco further emphasized Yamal’s importance, saying, “For sure, Lamine can be a main face and reference for this club for several years” adding, “I’m not gonna compare him with Messi or others. We love to have Lamine at our club, take care of him and appreciate him.”
The 17-year old winger is currently recovering from a left hamstring strain received during the international break. It is still unclear whether Yamal will be ready for Barcelona’s meeting with Sevilla on Sunday.
