Ole Gunner Solskjaer rejects Denmark approach, engaged in talks with major club

Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly turned down discussions to become Denmark’s national team coach, as he is engaged in talks with a major club about a head coaching role. Rumours circulating suggest that Solskjaer has even been approached by Manchester United themselves, with the possibility of returning to replace Erik ten Hag, whose future is currently under scrutiny.

Solskjaer, who managed the Red Devils between December 2018 and November 2021, left the club after 168 matches, where he led the team to 92 victories, 35 draws, and 41 defeats. Since stepping away from management, Solskjaer has been working as a match analyst for UEFA. However, with United’s struggles this season, it appears the club may be considering Solskjaer as a potential interim solution.

While Solskjaer remains one of several candidates being considered, his experience and ties to the club have made him a leading option. Further developments in the coming weeks will clarify if the Norwegian is poised for a remarkable return to Old Trafford.

This potential move would mark Solskjaer’s first return to management since leaving Manchester United, and it could offer him an opportunity to settle unfinished business at the club where he spent a big portion of his career, both as a player and a manager.
