A special night for Erling Haaland as he becomes Norway’s all-time top scorer and announces first child on the way

Erling Haaland had a night to remember as he captained Norway in their UEFA Nations League clash against Slovenia, marking the occasion with a brace in his country’s 3-0 victory. The Manchester City striker not only led his team to a comfortable win but also became Norway’s all-time leading goalscorer, surpassing Jörgen Jove’s record of 33 goals. Haaland achieved this milestone in just 36 international appearances, while Jove had set his tally over 45 games between 1928 and 1937.

Haaland’s first goal came just seven minutes into the game when he reacted quickest to a parried shot from Antonio Nusa. He added his second in the 62nd minute, further solidifying his status as Norway’s most prolific scorer. His tally for the season now stands at 12 goals across club and country.

Beyond his on-field accomplishments, Haaland shared personal news that made the evening even more special. He revealed that he and his girlfriend are expecting their first child, adding another memorable moment to an already historic night.
