Jurgen Klopp returns to football with Red Bull

Jurgen Klopp has made a surprising move, taking on the role of Global Head of Soccer at The Red Bull Group. He will be overseeing the strategy and transfers of all the clubs under the company’s umbrella. Starting from January 1, 2025, Klopp will be responsible for managing football operations at Red Bull’s four clubs: RB Leipzig (Germany), Red Bull Salzburg (Austria), Red Bull New York (USA), and Red Bull Bragantino (Brazil).

Klopp expressed his enthusiasm about his new role, saying, “After almost 25 years on the sideline, I could not be more excited to get involved in a project like this. The role may have changed, but my passion for football, it has not.”

As Klopp transitions into this position, his goal is to enhance the development of the talent within the Red Bull organization. “I want to develop the incredible football talent that we have” he remarked, highlighting his continued commitment to nurturing players and creating a lasting impact across the group’s clubs. The move marks a big shift in Klopp’s career from being directly on the sidelines to guiding the broader football strategy of a global network.
