Real Madrid wins in Ancelotti’s 300 match, Mbappe in doubt for Madrid derby

Carlo Ancelotti marked his 300th match as Real Madrid manager by guiding the team to a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Alaves at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday night. The win, which also extended Real Madrid’s impressive undefeated streak at their home ground to 38 games, was highlighted by an early goal from captain Lucas Vázquez, who scored less than a minute into his 250th La Liga appearance for the club.

Kylian Mbappe and Rodrygo added to Madrid’s tally, putting the home side in a commanding position. However, the final minutes of the match turned tense as Alaves scored two quick goals in the 85th and 86th minutes, making for an unexpectedly close finish.

Mbappe, who was substituted in the 80th minute due to discomfort, is now a doubt for Real Madrid’s upcoming derby against Atletico Madrid. While the initial feeling was that his injury was minor, further tests have revealed a hamstring issue, leaving the club concerned about his availability for the crucial match.

Real Madrid’s discipline was again called into question, with the team committing 7 fouls and receiving 4 yellow cards during the match. In contrast, Alaves committed 10 fouls but did not receive a single yellow card. Vinicius Junior received his third booking of the La Liga season, adding to the concerns over Madrid’s discipline.
