Slot reveals Alisson is doubtful for Bournemouth match, and promises Nunez will get his chance soon

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has offered some key insights ahead of the team’s upcoming matches, focusing on player competition and tactical preparations. Speaking about Darwin Nunez, Slot acknowledged the Uruguayan striker’s growing fitness but emphasized the competition he faces. “For sure Darwin Nunez will get his chance in the near future. We play a lot of games. He’s fitter and fitter now.” Slot said. “But he’s in competition with Diogo Jota who, in our and my opinion, has done really well in the last games.” Nunez has featured in four of Liverpool’s five games so far this season, but on each occasion, he entered as a substitute, clocking up a total of 84 minutes of football.

Trent Alexander-Arnold offered insight into Slot’s tactical approach, highlighting the manager’s attention to detail. “He gives us tactical insights throughout the week and even on the day of the game. He paints scenarios in his head to make sure there’s an answer for everything. There’s a solution for every opponent.” Arnold explained.

Reflectiong on the loss 0-1 loss to Nottingham Forest last weekend, Slot said, “My only protestation was about how we played. We, as a team, have to be aware that fans need something to get behind the team, and I don’t think we did that enough. If we do better, then the fans will enjoy what they see. But maybe the fans can give us an extra push.”

Despite the setback against Forest, Liverpool bounced back strongly, securing a solid 3-1 victory away to AC Milan in the Champions League, showing the resilience of Slot’s squad as they look to maintain momentum in the weeks ahead.
