Stefano Pioli in talks to take over Al Nassr, Ronaldo’s current manager hits back at exit rumours

Negotiations are ongoing between Al Nassr and Stefano Pioli, with talks progressing for the Italian specialist to become the new head coach of the Saudi club. Pioli is the main candidate to take over if Al Nassr decides to part ways with current manager Luis Castro. These talks follow a previous collapse in negotiations between Pioli and Al Ittihad, and now the focus has shifted to reaching a final agreement with Al Nassr. Before Pioli can take up the role, he would first need to officially terminate his contract with AC Milan which is still running.

Luis Castro, however, has responded angrily to speculation about his future. When asked if his time at Al Nassr is coming to an end with Pioli reportedly arriving, Castro made his feelings clear: “I will make sure I don’t offend anyone. Lying is a very ugly thing and the truth is the best thing. If I have never been sacked in my 28-year career, it is because I have always stuck to my job.”

After the first three rounds of the Saudi Pro League, Al Nassr sits in 7th place in the standings with 5 points. Cristiano Ronaldo missed the AFC Champions League match against Iraqi side Al Shorta due to a virus infection. Despite being favorites, Al Nassr struggled without their star forward, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw, leaving the team unable to secure a win. The uncertainty surrounding the managerial situation adds further tension as the club looks to regain momentum both domestically and in Asian competition.
