Crystal Palace chairman: We want to play in the Champions League

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish shared his thoughts on the club’s recent transfer activities and future goals in a recent interview. Parish expressed pride in Michael Olise’s move to Bayern Munich, saying, “We’re proud of the fact that Olise’s gone to Bayern. We want to be selling to the top clubs or top clubs like Newcastle who’ve got great aspirations.”

Discussing the club’s ambitions, Parish mentioned the desire to compete in the Champions League: “We want to be playing in the Champions League. The reality is we don’t right now.” Parish also praised Eberechi Eze, highlighting his qualities both on and off the pitch: “The guy is just an outstanding footballer. An outstanding person. He’s a gift to any football club.”

Regarding the transfer window, Parish was surprised by the lack of interest in Eze: “I was astounded that there wasn’t more interest in Eze. I don’t think the window worked out in the exact same format we thought it would.”

Parish also reflected on missed opportunities through the years, mentioning, “According to Neil Warnock, we missed out on Van Dijk” revealing some of the notable players Crystal Palace had been close to signing in the past.
