Chelsea send two goalkeepers on season-long loans

Chelsea is on the verge of parting ways with two goalkeepers under very similar conditions. Kepa Arrizabalaga is already part of Bournemouth’s squad, having extended his Chelsea contract for an additional year before being allowed to leave on a season-long loan. The Spanish goalkeeper, who holds the record as the most expensive goalkeeper in history after joining Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao for €80 million, completed his medical tests and formalities at Bournemouth and has now joined their ranks for the season.

Meanwhile, Djordje Petrovic is set to follow a similar path as he prepares to leave Stamford Bridge for French side Strasbourg. Like Kepa, Petrovic has agreed to a contract extension with Chelsea ahead of his departure. The move to Strasbourg will also be a season-long loan, set to last until June 2025, with the expectation that he will return to Chelsea afterward. The transfer is in its final stages, with formalities still to be completed.
