Atletico Madrid presents 4 new signings, but the club does not plan to stop there

Atletico Madrid officially presented their four new signings – Robin Le Normand, Connor Gallagher, Julian Alvarez, and Alexander Sorloth—in front of 30,000 fans at the Metropolitano Stadium. The event marked a significant moment for the club as they introduced the players who are expected to play key roles in the upcoming season.

The signings of Gallagher and Alvarez were particularly challenging for Atletico. Gallagher’s transfer from Chelsea faced numerous hurdles, including complex negotiations around personal terms and the structure of the deal. Similarly, Julian Alvarez’ move from Manchester City was not straightforward, with Atletico having to navigate various obstacles, including competition from other clubs and financial constraints, to secure his signature.

At some point during the ceremony, the atmosphere reached a fever pitch as Atletico Madrid’s new signings joined in with the fans’ chants. All four players were seen jumping enthusiastically when the crowd chanted, “Who doesn’t jump is a Madridista” a moment that resonated with the passionate supporters in the stadium.

Despite strengthening their squad with these high-profile additions, Atletico Madrid is not done in the transfer market. The club has set its sights on David Hancko from Feyenoord as their next target. Atletico’s initial offer for the Slovakian international was rejected, but the club has returned with an improved bid of €30 million plus a percentage of any future sale.

Hancko primarily plays as a left-back but is also capable of operating as a central defender.Diego Simeone is keen to bolster his defence following the departure of Mario Hermoso, and Hancko’s versatility fits the profile of the player he wants to add to the squad.
