Portuguese champions Sporting CP in pole position to secure Vitor Ruque’s signature

Sporting CP is moving forward in their pursuit of Vitor Roque, with negotiations progressing rapidly. The Portuguese club is in talks with Barcelona, discussing a total package valued at over €30 million, including various add-ons as part of the deal structure.

Sporting is reportedly aiming to pay around €20 million as a fixed fee, with bonuses to follow. Vitor Roque, who has already given his approval to the move, is awaiting the outcome of these negotiations, which are expected to reach a crucial point in the coming hours.

Meanwhile, FC Porto, despite recently selling Evanilson to Premier League side Bournemouth for €47 million, are not involved in any negotiations for Vitor Roque, leaving Sporting as the leading candidate for the young forward’s signature.

Vitor Roque was signed by Barcelona in July 2023 for a fee of around €45 million, but joined the club in January of 2024. Since his arrival at Camp Nou, Roque has shown glimpses of his potential but has struggled to secure a consistent starting role in a highly competitive Barcelona squad. He has made 16 appearances across all competitions, mostly coming off the bench, and has contributed with a couple of goals. Earlier this summer, Roque was linked with a move to the Saudi league, but the deal collapsed, leaving the door open for his potential move to Sporting.

As talks continue, all eyes are on Sporting and Barcelona to see if they can finalize a deal that could see Vitor Roque don the green and white jersey of Sporting CP in the near future.
