Barcelona secures Olmo, Hansi Flick rules out more midfield signings

Last night, Barcelona and Milan played an entertaining friendly that ended in a 2:2 draw. The Rossoneri took an early two-goal lead, but Robert Lewandowski’s brace helped the Catalans fight back, only for the team to lose on penalties.

In transfer news, Barcelona is set to sign Dani Olmo. A verbal agreement is in place after a key mission in Leipzig by Barca director Deco. The deal includes a €55 million guaranteed package plus €7 million in add-ons, with the main part being difficult to reach. Olmo has agreed to a six-year deal valid until June 2030 and has expressed his desire to move to Barca.

Barcelona’s manager, Hansi Flick, suggested that the club will not be signing a new midfielder. “We have several quality players in midfield, some of them are injured now but they will be bac,” Flick said. The Catalans have Pedri, Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, and Ilkay Gundogan, all capable of filling central midfield spots. “I think we are well covered in that position” he added.
