Lazio director dismisses James Rodriguez rumours, Rayo Vallecano keen on the Colombian

Lazio director Fabiani has firmly dismissed rumours linking the club with a move for James Rodriguez. Speaking to Radio Sei, Fabiani stated, “I’d never sign James Rodriguez, impossible. The rumours are fake. He’s 33 and never played more than 12/13 games in recent years… he did well in Copa America but we are not even interested in signing James.”

While Lazio may not be interested, Rayo Vallecano is reportedly keen on signing the Colombian midfielder. According to Marca, Rayo Vallecano is working on a ‘summer transfer bomb’ to bring Rodriguez back to Europe on a free transfer. James, who is eager to return to European football, could be an exciting addition to the Madrid side. The Colombian has lived in the Spanish capital during his stint with Real Madrid and is said to have loved the conditions there.

James Rodriguez had an impressive performance at the recent Copa America, where he finished with 6 assists, demonstrating his playmaking abilities. His standout contributions were a key factor for Colombia to reach the tournament’s final, and they have not gone unnoticed by clubs looking to bolster their squad.

In addition to interest from Rayo Vallecano, James Rodriguez has also been linked with a return to his former club, Porto. The Colombian star is currently exploring his options and is expected to make a final decision on his next move soon.

As the transfer window progresses, it remains to be seen where James Rodriguez will land, but his desire to play in Europe again is clear.
