From trials to ownership: Mbappe acquires 80% stake in Caen

Kylian Mbappé has signed all documents to become the new owner of French side SM Caen. Everything has been sealed, reports L’Équipé as Kylian will acquire 80% of the Ligue 2 club’s shares. At the age of 25, Mbappé becomes the youngest ever football club owner in Europe, taking the majority shareholder role at the historic 110-year-old club.

Mbappé and SM Caen share a long history, with the star forward having attended youth trials at the club in his early years. This move marks a full-circle moment for Mbappé, transitioning from a promising young talent to a significant figure in the club’s future.

Mbappé’s acquisition of SM Caen comes on the heels of his high-profile transfer to Real Madrid. The 25-year-old recently signed with the Spanish giants, and is yet to debut for Los Blancos.

As the new majority owner of SM Caen, Mbappé is expected to bring fresh energy and resources to the club, aiming to restore its former glory and secure a place in the top tier of French football. His dual roles as a player for Real Madrid and an owner in French football highlight his multifaceted impact on the sport.
