Manchester United target Ugarte after securing Leny Yoro and Zirkzee

Manchester United presented the 18-year-old central defender Leny Yoro yesterday, continuing with their squad rebuild for the upcoming season. Prior to that the club signed striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna and in addition to these moves, the Red Devils also completed the deal to send Mason Greenwood to Marseille.

The club is not wasting any time and is currently working on outgoing transfers, with Casemiro or Scott McTominay potentially making room for new midfield talent.

Manuel Ugarte is one of the first names on United’s list for a new midfielder. He is currently part of PSG’s squad but Florian Plettenberg claims Ugarte is keen on a move to Old Trafford. United have already agreed on personal terms with the Uruguayan midfielder, discussing contract details and showing that the player is eager to join even without Champions League football. The negotiations between the clubs are ongoing, with several other clubs also showing interest in the midfielder.

Ugarte shares the same agent, Jorge Mendes, as Leny Yoro, highlighting a strategic approach in United’s transfer dealings. The addition of Ugarte would further strengthen Manchester United’s midfield options, following their recent defensive reinforcement with Yoro. The club is poised to continue its aggressive transfer strategy as they prepare for the upcoming season.
