After stellar Euro 2024, Xavi Simons has to decide his club future

The Netherlands’ journey in Euro 2024 came to a heartbreaking end last night as they lost 2-1 to England in the semi-finals. Despite the defeat, Xavi Simons stood out as one of Oranje’s top performers, scoring his team’s only goal in the semi-final and finishing the tournament with one goal and three assists in total.

With the national team duties now concluded, Simons’ focus shifts to his club future. The young midfielder had informed Paris Saint-Germain of his decision to leave two weeks ago, and the time has come for him to choose his next destination.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig are both vying for Simons’ signature, each pushing for a loan deal. Bayern’s director Max Eberl has been in constant contact with Simons, making daily calls to secure the move. RB Leipzig remains persistent as well, hoping to bring the talented midfielder into their squad.

Simons has been clear that he would only make his final decision after the Euros. Now that the tournament is over for the Netherlands, the race is wide open, and it is up to Simons to choose his next club. Regardless of the outcome, the move will be a one-season loan from PSG, as stated since April.
