Bologna prepared to let Calafiori go after Euro 2024, Juventus and Liverpool lead the race for the defender

Bologna’s initial plan to retain Riccardo Calafiori is now in jeopardy as the club anticipates significant offers for the young center-back. Despite their desire to keep him, Bologna is prepared to listen to proposals that meet their valuation of the player.

Juventus has had Calafiori’s approval since May, but an agreement with Bologna has yet to be reached, claims Fabrizio Romano. The situation is becoming more competitive as Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, have shown keen interest. Liverpool is reportedly ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal in the race, thanks to groundwork laid by Richard Hughes during his spell as Parma’s director.

Bologna expects big clubs to come forward for Calafiori this summer, particularly after the conclusion of Euro 2024. While the club is reluctant to part with the promising defender, they acknowledge that a lucrative offer could seal the deal. The transfer market’s focus will undoubtedly shift towards Bologna and Calafiori in the coming weeks as clubs vie for his signature.
