Bayern Munich are gearing up for a significant midfield reshuffle as they prepare for the possible departure of star midfielder Joshua Kimmich. With interest from top clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester City, Kimmich has become one of the most sought-after assets in the transfer market. He has one year remaining on his current contract and Bayern would rather sell him this summer, than lose him on a free in 2025. Arsenal, in particular, have reaffirmed their intent to acquire Kimmich, with the player reportedly tempted by the Gunners’ project.

In anticipation of Kimmich’s potential exit, Bayern have intensified their search for midfield reinforcements. The Bavarian giants have been actively pursuing several key targets to fill the void and strengthen their squad depth.
One of Bayern’s primary targets is Fulham’s Joao Palhinha. Despite having their initial bid turned down, Bayern remain determined to secure the services of the Portuguese international. Palhinha’s impressive performances in the Premier League have caught the eye of Bayern’s scouts, and negotiations are expected to continue.
Additionally, Bayern Munich have expressed interest in Everton’s Amadou Onana. The Belgian midfielder is also on the radar of several top clubs, including Arsenal. Onana’s versatility and robust playing style make him an attractive option for Bayern as they look to bolster their midfield ranks.
In a separate move, Bayern are prepared to start the formal process to complete the signing of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace. The Bundesliga champions have informed Crystal Palace of their intention to activate the £45 million release clause, with an additional £5 million in add-ons. Olise is set to sign a contract until June 2029, as all personal terms have been agreed.
