Chelsea in pole position to sign Barcelona striker Marc Guiu

Chelsea and Bayern Munich have both shown strong interest in Barcelona striker Marc Guiu, who is available for €6 million. While Barcelona remains keen to retain Guiu by offering a new improved deal, the increasing interest from other clubs has complicated their efforts.

Chelsea’s pursuit of the 18-year-old forward is particularly advanced. Talks between Chelsea and Guiu’s agents are progressing well, with the London club confident of securing the deal. The agreement on a long-term contract is reportedly close, putting Chelsea ahead of other interested parties, including Bayern Munich.

Over the weekend, positive discussions between Chelsea and Guiu’s representatives have put the Premier League club in pole position. Barcelona has yet to receive a positive response from Guiu regarding their new contract proposal, adding to the uncertainty of his future at the Catalan club.

Guiu made a remarkable senior debut for Barcelona on 22 October, coming on as a 79th-minute substitute and scoring the only goal after just 23 seconds in a 1-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao. Since then, he has recorded seven matches and two goals for the club.

As the situation develops, Chelsea appear to be the frontrunners in acquiring the promising young striker, with Bayern Munich now trailing in the race. The coming days will be crucial in determining whether Guiu will head to a new destination or remain with Barca.
