Benjamin Šeško signs new RB Leipzig contract amid interest from Premier League clubs

In a move reminiscent of Erling Haaland’s decision to stay at Borussia Dortmund, Benjamin Šeško has opted to remain at RB Leipzig and sign a new contract with improved terms. The talented striker has decided to extend his stay with RB Leipzig, rejecting enticing offers from Premier League giants such as Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United.

Šeško’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, emphasized the importance of development in the young player’s career. “As a football agent, it’s easy to talk about developing top talents… until you are faced with great temptation. In that moment, your values and vision are truly tested. We do what we say, what we believe. Development is key.” Basanovic stated.

The official announcement confirmed that Benjamin Šeško has signed a new deal with RB Leipzig, valid until June 2029. The agreement includes a gentlemen’s agreement for a possible exit in 2025 or 2026, providing flexibility for future career moves.

RB Leipzig’s sporting director, Rouven Schröder, praised Šeško’s performance and potential. “Eleven goals in the second half of the season and most recently seven games in a row. This ratio is outstanding and shows that he is already one of the best strikers in the Bundesliga, and he is only 21 years old” Schröder said.
