Boston Celtics protect home court, move 2-0 up in NBA Finals

Boston Celtics pulled 2-0 up in the NBA Final series against Dallas Mavericks, after winning Game 2 105:98 at TD Garden on Sunday night. Luka Doncic’s triple-double of 32 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists was not enough for the Mavs, as he also turned the ball over 8 times. The team’s other superstar, Kyrie Irving, failed to stamp his authority on the game, finishing with 16 points on 7-of-18 shooting from the field. All five of Dallas’ starting line-up ended with more than 10 points, but the Mavs’ bench players contributed with a combined of only 9 points.

Jrue Holiday led the Celtics with 26 points on 79% shooting and 11 boards, while Jaylen Brown added 21. Kristaps Porzingis scored 12 points off the bench, and Boston’s rotation players had a total of 17 points. Both teams shot poorly from long distance with Dallas hitting just 6-of-26, and the Celtics were 10-of-39.

The NBA Finals will now move to Dallas, with Game 3 of the series scheduled for Wednesday at American Airlines Center.
