NBA Playoffs: Celtics take commanding 3-1 lead, OKC defeats Dallas to tie the series

Boston Celtics defeated Cleveland Cavaliers 109:102 at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse to pull 3-1 up in NBA’s Eastern Conference semi-finals. In the absence of Cavs’ star Donovan Mitchell, Boston’s dynamic duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown finished the night with 33 and 27 points respectively. Cleveland relied heavily on Darius Garland with the point guard registering 30 points on 27 shots. The Celtics will have the chance to close the series in 5 games on Wednesday, when they take on the Cavaliers at the TD Garden in Boston.

In the other meeting of the NBA post season on Monday, Oklahoma City Thunder triuphed 100:96 in Dallas to even the series with the Mavs 2-2. Josh Giddey was the only member of the Thunder’s starting 5 not to hit double-digits in points, spending just 12 minutes on the court, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was the team’s top scorer with 34 points. For the Mavs, P.J. Washington dropped 21 points, and Luka Doncic concluded the night with a triple-double of 18 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. The next meeting between OKC and Dallas is scheduled for Wednesday at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma.
