Barcelona’s attacker Joao Felix will leave the club at the end of the current 2023/24 season and return to Atletico Madrid. The 24 year old Portuguese is spending the campaign on loan from Atletico Madrid, but the Catalan’s club management has decided against making the deal permanent.

Atletico Madrid bought Joao Felix from Benfica in the summer of 2019 when activating his release clause. He spent 3 seasons and a half in Spain’s capital before being sent out on loan to Chelsea in January of 2023. Upon Felix’ return to Madrid, Barca came knocking for his services with another loan deal.
Throughout the current campaign, Felix has scored 10 goals and assisted for another 6 in 41 outings across all competitions. Los Cules find themselves in a midst of a financial crisis and it will be extremely difficult for them to fork out €60-70 million for a single player.
