PSG win the French title ahead of meeting Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League

Paris Saint-Germain won their 12th French Ligue 1 title and 3rd in a row on Sunday. Parisians are 12 points clear at the top of the standings, having collected 70 in the course of the season thus far. Their closest challengers from Monaco lost 3:2 their visit to Lyon on Sunday and handed the title to PSG, who were surprisingly held to a 3:3 draw at home by Le Havre on Saturday.

Luis Enrique has led PSG to back-to-back Ligue 1 trophies, but the Spanish specialist’s main task is to win the Champions League. The French champions will come up against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday in the 1st semi-final at Signal Iduna Park in Germany. Parisians have appeared in a Champions League final only on a separate occasion throughout their history – in 2020, when losing 1:0 to Bayern Munich. The European clashes with Borussia Dortmund and the potential final will certainly be the last for Kylian Mbappe in the team’s colours. The PSG superstar and captain is leaving on a free transfer at the end of the season.
