Last night in the English Premier League was time for the Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton. Liverpool visited Goodison Park in search of another 3 points which will keep them in the title race, with their manager Jurgen Klopp never losing at that ground until last night. The Toffees stunned their cross-town rivals, scoring two unanswered goals through Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the 27th and 58th minutes respectively.
2010 – Everton have beaten Liverpool at home in the Premier League for the first time since October 2010 (also a 2-0 win), ending their 12-game winless run in Merseyside derbies at Goodison Park (D9 L3 before tonight). Safety? pic.twitter.com/ZPh1SUXUYV

Even though, the Reds enjoyed the ball for 77% of the match last night, they failed to break Everton’s defence and are now trailing Arsenal by 3 points at the top of the Premier League standings with just 4 games remaining. A curious fact is that Everton’s previous home victory in the Merseyside derby was achieved over 13 years ago, via the same 2:0 score. Back then the Arsenal’s current manager Mikel Arteta was still part of the Toffees squad and even got on the score sheet.
