Yesterday there were 4 matches in the English Premier League, where were scored 11 goals in total. Wolverhampton lost at home to Bournemouth, Crystal Palace defeated Newcastle, while Liverpool’s title hopes were dealt a severe blow by Everton. The other match was between Manchester United and Sheffield United, with the Red Devils achieving a 4:2 win at Old Trafford. United’s fans celebrated returning to winning ways, not realizing that Harry Maguire’s goal in the 42nd minute of the clash broke the Premier League’s all time record for goals scored in a season.
We've already broken the record for most goals in a 38-match season ⚽️

Maguire’s goal last night was the 1085th scored in the Premier League season, the most in a 20-team campaign in the competition’s history, and there were another 7 goals that fell on Wednesday, setting the league’s current total at 1092. Even more impressive is that the teams managed to achieve that feat with another 45 matches still to be played. Without a doubt, by the end of the 2023/24 Premier League campaign, we will witness the first time when a season surpass 1,100 goals.
