The Gunners started the 2nd period the same way and it took them 7 minutes to extend their lead, as Ben White reacted fastest to a deflected shot in Chelsea’s box to fire it home. The goal inspired Mikel Arteta players and they were unstoppable in the next 13 minutes of the match, with Kai Havertz scoring twice in the process. Ben White completed the final score with his 2nd goal on the night in the 70th minute and the victory put the Gunners 3 points ahead of Liverpool and 4 ahead of Manchester City in the Premier League title race.
On the other hand, Chelsea remain 9th in the standings. Even though Mauricio Pochetinno tried to fire-up his players to step in in the absence of Cole Palmer before the game, the Blues finished the match with just one shot on target.
