PSG reach Champions League semi-finals with 1:4 victory over 10-men Barcelona

Paris Saint-Germain achieved a memorable 1:4 victory away at Barcelona, booking their tickets for the round of last-4 in the Champions League. Early on nothing looked like to be going in Parisians way. Raphina opened the score 12 minutes in after a brilliant run by Lamine Yamal to put Barca 1:0 up on the night and 4:2 on aggregate. Just before the half-hour mark PSG were offered hope as Ronald Araujo brought down Bradley Barcola as the last man in Barcelona’s defense and received a red card, leaving Barcelona with 10 men. Barcola played a key role in the 40th minute as well, sending a perfect cross into the box where it was met by Ousmane Dembele and the score was 1:1.

After the break PSG took full control of the game and were 1:2 up in the 54th minute through Vitinha. Two minutes later Barcelona’s manager Xavi was also sent off with a red card, and another 3 minutes into the match PSG were awarded a penalty which Kylian Mbappe turned into a goal, giving his side the aggregate lead for the very first time. The French superstar scored his 2nd and goal on the night in the 89th minute to ensure Parisians’ place among the Champions League’s last-4.
