NBA playoff picture set as regular season concludes

The regular season in NBA concluded last night, with 20 of the league’s 30 teams advancing to its knock-out phase. All 20 organizations who will battle it out in the play-offs were already familiar, but on the last day of the season had to be decided who is going to play whom. After all games concluded it became familiar that New York Knicks move up to 2nd spot on East, with Milwaukee Bucks dropping to 3rd and will meet the Indiana Pacers in the 1st round of play-offs.

In the Western Conference, the reigning champions Denver Nuggets ended in 2nd place, meaning they will meet the winner of the play-in tournament pair of New Orleans Pelicans – Los Angeles Lakers in the 1st play-off round. Minessota Timberwolves lost 106:125 at home to the Phoenix Suns and finish 3rd, meaning they will meet that very same opponent in the 1st play-off round, as the victory took the Suns to 6th spot in the Western Conference standings. Something similar will happen to New Orleans Pelicans who lost to the L.A. Lakers 108:124 on the final day of regular season. The two franchises will collide in the first play-in game, as they ended in 7th and 8th positions in the West respectively.
