Last night Chelsea recorded a 4:3 victory against Manchester United in a thrilling encounter at Stamford Bridge in London. Summer signing Cole Palmer was the hero for the Blues as he scored 3 goals, with two coming from the penalty spot. Chelsea took a two-goal lead inside the opening 20 minutes through Gallagher and Palmer, but the Red Devils turned the game around with Alejandro Garnacho’s double and a Bruno Fernandes goal. Chelsea waited until the final minutes when Palmer’s moment came. First, he scored another penalty in the 10th minute of added time, and a minute later, the young forward saw his shot deflected by Scott McTominay and nestling in United’s net for the final score of 4:3.

Reflecting on his performance and the victory, Palmer shared his elation with TNT: “Crazy. Madness. I’m so happy!” He addressed comments about his penalty-scoring record, asserting his reliability from the spot. Palmer continued humourously: “People are saying I score penalties but I’m not gonna miss a penalties am I? Touch wood!” Palmer also shared insight into Mauricio Pochettino’s motivational tactics during the game, particularly after scoring the critical third goal. “When we scored the third goal, Pochettino said: guys, two minutes, come on. He’s always trying to drive us on!” Palmer revealed. This push from Pochettino evidently spurred the team on to clinch the win in the dying moments.
