Simone Inzaghi records 100th win with Inter but loses his voice

Inter recorded yet another Serie A victory on Monday, defeating Empoli 2-0 at home. It marked Simone Inzaghi’s 150th game in charge of the Nerazzurri, and after the final whistle, it turned into his 100th victory with the Milan-based club. In a funny twist of events, the manager did not speak to the press after the match, as Inter’s victory came at the expense of Inzaghi’s voice, which he lost during the game while passionately giving orders to his players from the sideline. The former striker is currently involved in discussions regarding the extension of his contract, with Inzaghi’s existing deal running until 2025.

Inter sits at the very top of Serie A’s standings, enjoying a comfortable 14-point lead over their closest challengers and cross-city rivals Milan. They will have the chance to win the Italian title on April 22nd when Inter and Milan face each other in a derby, after which only five rounds of play will remain.

Inzaghi guided Inter to the Champions League final last season, where they lost 1-0 to Manchester City. However, this campaign, the club failed to replicate its accomplishment and crashed out in the round of 16 at the hands of Atletico Madrid.
