Atlanta Hawks hand Boston Celtics 2nd loss in 3 days

The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Boston Celtics 123:122 in a thrilling NBA game on Thursday at State Farm Arena. The Hawks secured the victory in dramatic fashion. Dejounte Murray was the star of the show, as he scored a career-high 44 points. On top of that, he provided 7 assists and grabbed 7 rebound and broke the Celtics’ hearts by scoring the game’s winning shot with just 0.1 seconds remaining in overtime.

Atlanta was without Trae Young, but in his absence the Hawks’ role players stepped up. Bogdan Bogdanovic contributed with 24 points, while Clint Capela and De’Andre Hunter both ended the game with a double-double to their names. The victory was Atlanta’s second triumph over the Celtics in the space of just three days.

Jayson Tatum’s efforts weren’t enough for the Celtics, who lost despite his 31 points and 13 rebounds. In fact all of the team’s starting five concluded the game with double-digits in points, but it was not sufficient to overcome the determined Hawks. Despite the loss, the Celtics remain at the top of the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 57 wins and 16 losses, while the Hawks currently hold the 10th spot with a record of 34-39.
