Teun Koopmeiners to Atalanta: I want to leave in the summer

In an exclusive interview with Telegraaf, Teun Koopmeiners has openly declared his intention to part ways with Atalanta come summer. The Dutch midfielder, whose contributions have been pivotal to the Italian club since his arrival in 2021, expressed a desire for new challenges and the hope that his departure will be beneficial for both him and Atalanta.

“I have told Atalanta that I want to leave the club in the summer” Koopmeiners revealed. He added, “I hope there will be options to consider this year… I’ve had an amazing time at Atalanta and I hope they will get a big sum.”

Koopmeiners’ performances have caught the attention of several clubs, with Juventus and teams from the Premier League showing interest in the 26-year-old. Having joined Atalanta from AZ Alkmaar in a 14 million deal, Koopmeiners has since proved to be a valuable asset, making 112 appearances across all competitions and contributing 26 goals and 12 assists. His performances have not only been key for his club but also earned him a spot on the Netherlands national team, where he has made 20 appearances since his debut in October 2020.
