Nine teams and seven managers repeat their achievement of reaching the European quarter-finals for 2nd consecutive season

In a show of consistency, 9 teams and 7 managers have secured their spots in the European quarter-finals for the second consecutive season. The tacticians who have reached the last-8 stage in back-to-back campaigns are Vincenzo Italiano, Roger Schmidt, Stefano Pioli, David Moyes, Xabi Alonso, Pep Guardiola, and Carlo Ancelotti, leading their respective teams with strategic finesse.

The teams making this remarkable achievement include Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Benfica, Milan, West Ham, Bayer Leverkusen, Roma, and Fiorentina. This season, however, sees Milan and Pioli and Benfica and Schmidt in the Europa League, shifting from their Champions League campaign last year. West Ham and David Moyes, after winning the Europa Conference League trophy in 2023, are now promoted and compete in the Europa League.

There have been changes at the helm for Bayern Munich and Roma as they will enter this season’s quarter-finals under new leadership, with Thomas Tuchel and Daniele De Rossi, replacing Julian Nagelsmann and Jose Mourinho.
