Kevin De Bruyne’s milestone 100th Belgium cap on hold due to injury

Kevin De Bruyne will miss Belgium’s upcoming friendly matches against the Republic of Ireland and England due to a groin injury. The playmaker’s absence will leave a significant void in the Red Devils’ lineup but it will also provide Domenico Tedesco with a chance to give playing minutes to some of the other midfielders in the squad. Tedesco, has shared the importance of De Bruyne being fully fit for the upcoming Euro 2024 which starts in June. The next occasion Kevin De Bruyne dons Belgium’s kit will be a special moment, marking his 100th appearance for his country, as he currently stands at 99 international caps.

Since recovering from his previous injury which had him sidelined for 4 months between August 2023 and this January, De Bruyne has been in scintilating form. In 12 matches across all competitions the Belgian midfiielder has been directly involved in 14 goals, single-handedly scoring 2 and assisting for another 12.
