Anthony Davis marked his 31st birthday with a historic performance, further cementing his place among NBA’s greats. Davis achieved numbers never seen in the league so far in the Lakers’ 120:109 home win against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night. Initially, the Brow became the first Lakers player to post 25 points & 25 rebounds in the same game since Shaquile O’Neal, but just a few minutes later he was in a league of his own as the only NBA player ever to record at least 25 points, 25 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals.
Anthony Davis is the first Laker since Shaq to have a 25 & 25 game!
He's also the first player in NBA history to record 25 PTS, 25 REB, 5 AST & 5 STL in a game 🤯 pic.twitter.com/Voz7c9Nrlt

Turning 31 years of age today, Davis chose the perfect occasion to demonstrate his talent, reminding everyone why he was selected as the first overall pick by New Orleans back in 2012. After the victory, the Lakers occupy 9th spot in the Western Conference standings with a 36-30 balance, and have every reason to be optimistic, with Davis leading the charge.
As the NBA regular season reaches its final part, all eyes will be on Davis and the Lakers to see if they can maintain the momentum and secure a place in the postseason. If Davis continues to deliver performances like this, we will not be surprised if the Lakers become the first franchise to secure a double in NBA’s history, as they won the inaugral edition of the NBA Cup in December 2023.
