Ancelotti speaks to the press and reveals when Courtois and Militao will be ready to play

Speaking to the media before Real Madrid’s much anticipated visit to Valencia, Carlo Ancelotti addressed several topics, including a possible return date for Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao. Both players have been out since the start of the 2023/24 season with ACL injuries.

Ancelotti provided a crucial update on the duo’s recovery timeline, stating: “After Mallorca’s match (April 14), Courtois & Militão will be available to play.” This news signals a significant boost for Real Madrid as both Courtois and Militao are key components of Ancelotti’s defensive setup.

In addition to discussing the return of Courtois and Militão, Ancelotti touched upon the condition of other squad members, confirming, “Vini Jr is ready for tomorrow’s game, physically & mentally.” If selected, the clash with Valencia will be Vinicius Junior’s 250 game for Los Blancos, and Ancelotti had words of praise for the Brazilian’s development at the club: “I think that since he arrived, I have seen a constant progression.” The Italian manager also highlighted the Selecao’s star attitude towards the game, remarking, “Viní’s best quality is that he enjoys football a lot.”

The Real Madrid coach didn’t stop there as he also provided updates on other squad members, declaring: “Jude Bellingham is back. He’s 100%.” while also revealing that Joselu has also recovered and is ready to play. These returns mark a significant moment for Los Blancos as they gear up for the crucial part of the season.

Ancelotti’s comments come at a time when Real Madrid is navigating through a demanding schedule, and the return of key players from injury will undoubtedly bolster their campaign across all competitions. The team is currently on top of LaLiga standings with a 6 point lead over 2nd-placed Girona, and holds a one goal lead over RB Leipzig after their 1st leg meeting in the Champions League’s round of 16.
