Bayern Munich aims to implement Real Madrid’s appoach to youngsters

Bayern Munich’s sporting director, Max Eberl, has revealed that the Bavarian giants will try to copy Real Madrid’s approach when it comes to promoting young players into the first team. The comment was directed at the future of young French forward Mathys Tel, who joined the club in the summer of 2022 but is still finding it hard to break into the starting lineup. Eberl gave as an example how Los Blancos allowed Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni to smoothly become integral parts of the squad, even though they joined at a tender age and had to compete for their spots with established players such as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

Mathys Tel has played a total of 57 matches for Bayern Munich with a return of 12 goals and 4 assists. Such a number of games spread across almost 2 seasons is not small, but Tel has mainly come off the bench and has been on the field for a combined 1,360 out of a possible 5,130 minutes.
