Peter Bosz seeks redemption as PSV host Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League

PSV and Borussia Dortmund will come up against one another tonight at Philips Stadium in Eindhoven for the 1st leg of their 1/8 finals clash in the Champions League. The meeting will present PSV manager Peter Bosz with a perfect chance to avenge BVB for his sacking 7 years ago.

The Dutch specialist was at the helm of BVB for a period of 161 days between July and December 2017, during which he led the team in 24 games, registering 8 victories, 6 draws, and 10 defeats. Bosz’s PSV is currently undefeated in the Eredivisie and tops the standings, enjoying a 10-point cushion over 2nd-placed Feyenoord. Borussia Dortmund, in the meantime, is already 17 points adrift of Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen and has no realistic chance of winning the title.

PSV finished 2nd with 9 points, behind Arsenal in its group, while Borussia Dortmund collected 11 points in Group F, and clinched the 1st position beating the likes of PSG, Milan, and Newcastle to it.

Johan Bakayoko remains under question for the hosts, while BVB will not be able to rely on Karim Adeyemi, Sebastien Haller, and Felix Nmecha. The condition of Donyell Malen remains uncertain, and the ex-PSV player’s return to the Philips Stadium might be thwarted.
