Kylian Mbappe has decided to leave PSG at the end of the current 2023/24 campaign and the 25-year-old World Cup winner has already informed PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi of his decision to leave, Fabrizio Romano reports. The details of his departure are still being finalized, but his exit in the summer is certain. Mbappe and PSG plan to jointly announce the departure in the near future.

Real Madrid is confidently working on securing a deal for Mbappe. However, their current salary offer is significantly lower than what was proposed in the summer of 2022 and below his current salary at PSG. This only suggests Real Madrid wants Mbappe to join on their terms after a prolonged pursuit.
The French contingent at Real Madrid, including Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurelian Tchouameni — all teammates of Mbappe on the French national team — surely appeals to the forward. Mbappe is keen to emulate the success of French legends like Zinedine Zidane and Karim Benzema at Real Madrid, aiming to win the Champions League with the team and secure the Ballon d’Or trophy on a personal level.
Tchouameni even hinted at locker room talks about the move, but also added: “Mbappé didn’t tell me anything but even if he did, I wouldn’t have told you! We talk about it in the locker room because it’s an important subject”.
Mbappe’s relationship with Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Pérez, remains strong, despite the previously turned down offer. This was highlighted when Mbappe made a personal call to Pérez in May 2022, explaining his decision to stay at PSG, a gesture which the Los Blancos president deeply appreciated.
