LaLiga team Rayo Vallecano has sacked their head coach Francisco Rodriguez with immediate effect, reports Fabrizio Romano. The Madrid-based outfit started the season in good form, allowing just two defeats across the opening 12 rounds, but since then has failed to produce the desired results and won only one of the following 14 LaLiga meetings, which has cost the manager his job. On Saturday, Rayo lost 2:1 away to Mallorca, registering their 3rd straight defeat and their 6th consecutive outing without a win.

Rodriguez was at the helm of the club for 27 matches in all competitions, recording 8 wins, 9 draws, and 10 defeats. He succeeded Andoni Iraola at the post, who left Rayo for Premier League side Bournemouth last summer, but the 45-year-old specialist has failed to live up to the board’s expectations.
