Manchester City has never won when visiting Copenhagen

FC Copenhagen is set to face the defending Champions League winner, Manchester City, tonight at the Parken Stadium in Denmark’s capital city. A curious fact has occurred prior to the first leg of the round-of-16 battle between the two teams: the English side has never won when playing at the Parken Stadium. City’s first visit there was in 2009, ending in a 2:2 draw, and in 2022, both teams registered another draw, this time with no goals on display.

Manchester City is on a run of 10 straight victories in all competitions, while FC Copenhagen has not played a competitive game since winning 1:0 against Galatasaray in mid-December. Pep Guardiola’s squad will be in full strength tonight, with the Spaniard able to rely on all of his players, while FC Copenhagen will have to deal without the suspended Lukas Lerager and the injured Nicolai Boilesen, Davit Khocholava, Birger Meling, and Theo Sander. City is considered a favorite not only against Copenhagen but also to win the entire tournament for the second year in a row. FC Copenhagen has reached the knockout phase of the Champions League for only the 2nd time in their history, with the previous one being in the 2010/11 season when they were knocked out by another Premier League side, Chelsea.
