Hincapie, a 22-year-old, operates in defense, while Wirtz, two years younger than his teammate, is an extremely technically gifted attacking midfielder, who has been compared to none other than Lionel Messi by his manager Alonso. Piero Hincapie, an Ecuadorian, joined Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2021 for €6.35 million, while Wirtz is a product of the club’s youth academy and has been part of the first team since 2020.
