Enzo Fernandez publicly denies the rumours of him leaving Chelsea in the summer

Chelsea’s record signing in history, Enzo Fernandez, has come out publicly to deny recent talks of him wanting to leave the club in the summer. In the aftermath of Chelsea’s 3:1 Premier League victory over Crystal Palace on Monday, in which the Argentine playmaker scored the last goal, he spoke to ESPN.

Fernandez admitted that he is feeling good in London and has no desire to leave Stamford Bridge. The midfielder also acknowledged that he wants to play Champions League football next term, something that looks very unlikely given that Chelsea currently occupies 10th position in the Premier League standings, 13 points adrift of 4th place, which ensures Champions League qualification. The World Cup winner added that he plans on playing for Chelsea as long as the club wants him to.

Enzo Fernandez has recorded 52 matches with 7 goals and 3 assists for the Blues in all tournaments since his €121 million transfer from Benfica in January 2023. In the current 2023/24 season, he has taken part in 30 games with a return of 7 goals and an assist.
