Christopher Nkunku returns to first team training before Chelsea’s game with Liverpool

Chelsea’s French attacker Christopher Nkunku is back, once again training with the first team. The player has been plagued by injuries since his transfer from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023 and has taken part in only 4 games for the Blues throughout the current 2023/24 season so far. He made his Chelsea official debut on 19th of December against Newcastle when entering from the bench as a substitute and has started only 1 match from the 1st minute. Nkunku was part of the Chelsea squad for the last time on December 30th when the Blues faced Luton Town and has missed six meetings since then. In his absence Chelsea reached the EFL Cup final, defeating Middlesbrough 6:2 on aggregate and also qualified for the 1/16 finals in the FA Cup.

Chelsea secured Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig for €60 million, but have yet to benefit from their investment, with Nkunku spending much of his time in London sidelined due to injuries.
