Tottenham receives much needed boost before facing Manchester City

Tottenham are about to face Pep Guardiola’s side tomorrow in a match of the 1/16-finals in the FA Cup. The team’s manager, Ange Postecoglou revealed in front of the gathered media that Spurs’ midfielder James Maddison has completed a full week of training and is ready to feature against Manchester City on Friday. Tottenham has been stripped of his services since the 6th of November, when Maddison got injured during the 1st half in a match against Chelsea and has missed a total of 11 games until now. Without the playmaker the Spurs recorded 5 wins, 2 draws and 4 defeats across all tournaments, while when he was available for selection in the earlier part of the season, the club lost only 1 of 15 meetings.

The return of Maddison was not the only positive update, as Postecoglou also revealed that both Dejan Kulusevski and Cristian Romero are healthy and will be in the squad to face Manchester City. The Spurs’ manager added that Gio Lo Celso, Manor Salomon, and Alejo are the only players still recovering from injuries.
