Athletic Club eliminated Barcelona in the quarter-finals of Copa Del Rey on Wednesday, winning with the score of 4:2 after extra-time. The regular 90 minutes ended in 2:2 draw, with Athletic taking the lead as early as the 1st minute, but Barca managed to turn the score around until the break thanks to goals by Robert Lewandowski and Yamine Lamal. Oihan Sancet equalized soon after the renewal of the game in the 49′ and that is how the 90 minutes finished. Inaki – the older of the Williams brothers in Athletic’s squad put the team 3:2 ahead in the stoppage time of the first extra-period and Nico Williams finished the job with another goal in the last 120th minute for the final score of 4:2.

For Inaki Williams, the win meant a lot. He had just been playing in the African Cup of Nations for Ghana, and within 48 hours, he traveled for 12 hours to join his club for this game after his national team got knocked out early in the tournament.
