West Ham is very close to securing the signature of Manchester City’s midfielder Kalvin Phillips on loan for the rest of the season. The parties reached an angreement on Tuesday and if the England international pass the medical tests he will become part of the Hammers’ squad at least until the summer. West Ham will cover 100% of the player’s wages for the time of the loan, with the clubs also rumoured to have inserted a buy option into the contract.

Understand it will also include an option to buy clause in June for #WHUFC.

Phillips has clocked up just 319 minutes in 10 appearances for City across all tournaments throughout the current campaign. He has spend just a season and a half with Pep Guardiola’s side who bought him for €49 million from Leeds in the summer of 2022. Even though Kalvin Phillips’ stay in Manchester can’t be considered successful on a personal level, the midfielder can proudly claim that he was a part of the team who won a famous treble in 2023.
