Al-Nassr superstar Cristiano Ronaldo finished in 3rd position in the voting for the Best Footballer in Asia in 2023. South Korea’s Heung-Min Son was voted as the best for the 7th year in a row, while his countryman Min-Jae Kim finished in 2nd place.

The Tottenham forward claimed 22.9% of the vote, while 19.54% went for the Bayern Munich’s defender and 17.06% voted for Ronaldo. In 2023 Heung-Min Son scored 27 goals combined for the Spurs and South Korea. The prize is given to honour the best Asian footballer or footballer to play in Asia. Son has won the coveted award 9 times during his career, and failed to do so only in 2016 since receiving his maiden trophy in 2014.
Heung-Min Son is currently with South Korea’s squad, taking part at the Asian Cup. The team won its first group game 3:1 against Bahrain and will face Jordan in the next match on 20th of January.
