Tottenham’s double move: Signed Dragusin under Bayern Munich’s nose, and now are selling Eric Dier to them

In a surprising turn of events, Eric Dier is on the brink of transferring from Tottenham to Bayern Munich. The unexpected twist occurred just a day after the two clubs were vying for the services of Romanian international Radu Dragusin. Despite Bayern’s last-minute formal bid, Dragusin had already committed to Tottenham, and he honored his word.

Now, within only 24 hours, Tottenham and Bayern have reached an agreement, with Eric Dier set to move to Munich for a fee nearing €4 million. According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, only the medical tests remain before the transfer becomes official. In Munich, Dier will reunite with ex-Spurs’ captain Harry Kane, who moved to Germany in the summer of 2023.

Eric Dier, a product of Sporting Lisbon’s youth academy, made his senior debut for the Portuguese club in 2012. Tottenham acquired him for €5 million in the summer of 2014, and he has since accumulated 426 appearances across all competitions, contributing 16 goals and 17 assists. In the current 2023/24 season, however, Dier has only featured in the starting lineup once and has made a total of four appearances for Tottenham.
